1. Who we are
These terms apply to your use of this website and the loan application service operated by LoanShark, a private lender in Ontario, Canada ("we", "us"). By creating an account or applying you agree to them.

2. What this website does
You can request a quote, create an account, apply for a secured loan, upload the documents we need, and later view your loan, payment schedule and notices. A quote is an estimate for information only. It is not an offer or approval. Gold values in quotes use a gold price that we update from time to time and show with its date; the price at the time we assess your items may differ.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and the owner of anything you offer as security, or authorised to pledge it.
- The information you give us must be true and complete. Giving false information or documents can lead us to decline or end an application and, where the law allows, to take other steps.
- Keep your password private. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account.
4. Applications and approval
Submitting an application does not oblige us to lend. We may ask for more information, inspect and assay your items, verify your identity and decline for any lawful reason. A loan exists only once we have both signed the written loan agreement and we have paid the funds to you. We may offer different terms than you asked for; you are free to decline them.
5. Cost of borrowing
Before you sign, the loan agreement states the principal, the interest rate, the annual percentage rate (APR), all fees and the total cost of borrowing, as required by law. We do not charge an effective annual rate above the maximum permitted by section 347 of the Criminal Code of Canada. If a payment would cause that limit to be exceeded, we reduce the charge.
6. Security for the loan
Gold and other items you pledge stay in our safekeeping until the loan is repaid, and are returned to you after you pay off the loan in full. If you default, we will give you the written notices required by the law that applies to your loan, including the Personal Property Security Act of Ontario, and a fair chance to cure the default before we sell any item. Any money left over after a sale and our costs belongs to you.
7. Payments
Payments are made as set out in your loan agreement. We record each payment, apply it first to fees, then interest, then principal, and send you a receipt. You can pay off your loan early at any time by asking for a payoff amount.
8. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the website: no attempts to break or probe it, no automated bulk submissions, no uploading malware, and no applications in someone else's name.
9. Our liability
We work to keep this website available and accurate but do not promise it will be error-free or always on. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses caused by website downtime or by information you entered incorrectly. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
10. Privacy
How we handle your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in Ontario have jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits the consumer protection rights you have under the laws of the province or territory where you live.
